| You are probably aware that there are
literally tens of thousands of websites out there offering you great rates
on your insurance. What you may not know is that most of these sites are
there for a much different reason than they are stating to you.
The reality is that most insurance web sites aren't offering
you insurance at all. They promise to get you multiple quotes, or the lowest
rates, when in reality they are
SELLING YOUR
PRIVATE
INFORMATION
What's worse, not only are these web-sites selling your
information, but they are selling it THREE, FOUR, and in some cases FIVE
times. This means that not only is your private information being sold, but
that you are going to get up to 5 times the HARASSMENT.
And to whom is this information being sold to?
PUSHY SALES PEOPLE!
How can you avoid having your private
information from being sold over the internet while getting the lowest rate
available? It is simple when you follow these easy steps.
-
ALWAYS make
sure that the site is the actual insurer's website. For faster service
(not to mention more personalized service) find an authorized insurance
broker's website. This will guarantee that you are dealing directly with
the end user of your information. This way you will know that your
information is being used exactly as you intended it to be used.
-
Make sure that BEFORE
YOU REQUEST a quote that the agency you are submitting to has more
than one carrier. Not all insurance companies are alike. Get the rate you
deserve with out the hassles of talking to 5 different companies. A good
Independent Insurance Broker will have more than enough carriers that want
your business.
-
Make sure that the site you are using has a
PHONE NUMBER. A real phone number where you
can speak with a LICENSED insurance agent. If
it does have a number, call it. Talk with someone at the company and make
sure this is who you are ACTUALLY dealing
with.
